A restless visionary in the role of Creative Director, it is in Colin’s hands to ensure that Studio Five embodies the inspirations that led to its creation. And thanks to his early knowing that this was his lifelong passion, there are all kinds of reasons to trust he’ll exceed his creative intentions.

His history speaks; he started in the industry at the age of 16, and within a few years of crafting his talent and putting substance to the art of hair, he has placed in the top ten every year since he began to compete.

With his extensive product knowledge and experience, Colin has led the Studio Five team to source out products that reflect their constant drive for only the best worldwide. The product of that?__ Only the most innovative and current techniques for his clients and staff. With rare tact, Colin provides the experience of high fashion and function. Always.

An international inspiration…

As Director of Operations, Tyler brings an international inspiration to Studio five hair. A native of Gilford Ontario, Ty would not exactly be your token image of an internationally inspired salon owner, however, while in Singapore in 2010 Ty realized that it was time to change things in his life. An electrician by trade (with a varied work history) his lifelong ambition was to put his work hard ethic, entrepreneurial flair and skills to work. The idea of opening a hair salon in york region was hatched when visiting a salon in Southeast Asia.

Ty realized that a hair salon can be so much more than just a hair cut: a meeting place, a space to share ideas, a personalized art gallery space where art, music, inspiration and design meet. There was only one person Ty would have thought of to help create this dream – his friend and stylist, Colin.

After his return from Asia, they started to put together their plan. Ty’s love of art, music and design were clearly the forefront in his mind as they started to conceive Studio five hair. Ty would go on to bring in the interior design skills of his fiance, Heather-Rose Solomon to imprint his own personal flair into the space.

With his dedication to individuality, Ty has taken over the position of Director of Operations at Studio five hair, putting his talents into straight-razor shaving, hair extensions and to wherever else they are needed. Continuing to coordinate Hair Appointment’s, new art installations, seek out up-and-coming local Indie bands and pushing to promote Studio five hair’s unique brand, expect to see Ty at the heart of the hair salon as he works to make his vision of Studio five hair into a reality.

Committed, Talented… Indie

While those may be words we typically don’t associate with one another they perfectly describe Brooke’s character, personality and style. Her infectious charm immediately puts customers at ease, and her talent takes over from there-ensuring satisfaction every time a client is in the chair.

As a child Brooke enjoyed art, and now sees styling as a natural progression and outlet for that talent. She has taken the next step and is currently working to finish up her apprenticeship at Georgian College-keeping on top of the most recent trends and honing her technical skill set. Indie is a word to describe Brooke-she is looking for that perfect, not quite next big thing in everything she does, be it music, art, or styling. Look to see Brooke spotting trends in style or hot new products before the mainstream catches on to what she sees.

Detail and dedication are two of Brooke’s hallmarks, both clearly visible in the quality of the experience she provides to each of her clients. With a focus on quality and an enduring drive to make each clients experience the best it can be- it is clear why Brooke continues to build such a devoted client base. Always looking for new products and their applications she is keenly interested in the educational side of the business. Brooke is starting on a career path that will surely take her far in the salon world-her rise to the top will only be made easier through her great personality and drive.

When asked to describe Adriana this is what her coworkers at Studio Five came up with-and its clear that they are completely correct in describing this new talent at the Salon. Outgoing and energetic, Adriana is a native of Bradford Ontario and brings some great new clients with her for the short trip to Newmarket where she joins the Studio Five Team. While she may be somewhat shy to start Adriana shows a natural passion for making a positive change in every cut she makes, seeing an opportunity to change someone’s style and opinion of themselves for the better each time she picks up the scissors.

Schooled at the Marvel School in Yorkville Adriana has all the tools that a great stylist needs; technical training, a flair for fashion and a personality that lets her connect with her clients and coworkers alike. Since coming to Studio Five Adriana has only become more confident-receiving nods from some On Air talent, as well as rave reviews from new clients. Look for Adriana’s natural talent and fantastic personality to liven the atmosphere at Studio Five where she continues to change people’s personal style and boost their confidence.

As a young gun Joey has been shooting high all the way!
His energy and charisma bring great harmony to his exquisite ability to create anything from current to classic. With his great knowledge of hair and edgy fashion sense, Joey is a shining star at Studio FIVE. Joining forces with FIVE back in November 2011, Joey has been receiving incredibly high demand for his services. Make sure you re-book this guy before you leave the studio, HE ROCKS!
